Heartland's "I Loved Her First"

I heard this on the radio today and burst into tears. It's the perfect Daddy/daughter wedding dance song. I told Craig that's what he's going to have to dance to at the Princess' weddings!

My Dream Camera

After drooling over Eric's pictures and then seeing him use his Canon Rebel XTi, I've decided I really need to be looking at new digital cameras.

I would love to have the same as Eric, but I would have to have a few lenses to go with it. Since I take pictures of anything and everything, especially the Princesses, usually in action, I would need a lens for that. I would need a lens for closeup pictures as well.

We're also looking at new point and shoot cameras. We have a Kodak one that takes great pictures, but the battery door broke and it's a real pain to try to keep it on with rubber bands. I can't get over how the prices have come down since we bought our Kodak. Way more megapixels for about half the price. I'm definitely going to be checking these out because Oldest Princess is taking a digital photography class at school next year. She loves photography too and has a good "eye" for it. A chip off the old block!

Here's a favorite picture I took recently:

It's Friday!!

Yahoo, it's Friday! Craig took today off. Woohoo!

Our plan for the day:

*take girls to swimming lessons
*hang out for a bit
*meet my cousin and her little girl at my aunt & uncle's house and go swimming in their pool
*get pizza for dinner

Of course, the forecast calls for rain.....but hey as long as it's not lightening, we're already wet, so we may as well swim! ;)

The Police

Oh my goodness! I'm taken right back to high school! I'm remembering the after football game dances where everyone was dancing (albeit, not so well, but hey, we were having fun!) to Don't Stand So Close to Me and listening to my walkman with my Police cassette. Every breath you take.....every move you make.... Ahhhh, the memories!

Well, guess what? If you've been taken down memory lane like I have, you can get the new 2-disc Police Cd. They released it on June 5 and includes a vintage poster. I love getting free stuff! I could definitely find a place to hang it as the Police aren't hard on the eyes. It has all your favorite Police songs and you can be transported back to the first time you heard Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. It's awesome!

Please click on this to go and view an awesome banner where you can watch The Police's videos, listen to tracks from The Police's new 2 cd hits collection, enter to win a trip to NYC to see The Police in concert and even view details about their current world tour.

Isn't that fun? So be like me, come on you know you want to, and run out and pick up the new 2 disc CD!

Windy!

Boy the wind really picked up this afternoon/evening. The fence between our house and the neighbors blew down over the winter sometime. It still hasn't been fixed, but they propped it up. Well, I'm sitting here with the patio door open and watching it. It's blowing back and forth and creaking. LOL I'm sure if this wind keeps up for any amount of time, the fence will be blown over and propped against my garden. But....I just looked at it and it's leaning in towards their yard, so who knows? LOL

Free Ringtones

One thing I'm always looking at is the ringtones on my phone. My goal is to eventually get a specific tone for each of the people in my phone book. My only hold back on doing that is the cost. It's now $2.99 for each ringtone. But, now there's a website where I can get Free Ringtones! Best news I've heard all day!

I'm browsing around on the site and they have a lot of the popular songs from the popular artists like Hannah Montana, Carrie Underwood, Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Shania Twain and a ton more! You're bound to find one that is just what you're looking for! There are different categories like Country, Kids, Pop, Rock and more. There's even a section for movie and TV themes. I found Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm going to get this one and put it on my phone for when my cousin calls. She dressed up one Halloween as an Oompa Loompa, so every time I hear that song, I think of her. Who can resist Oompa Loompa, Doopity Doo? Oh, but I just found another for her that I could use. The theme from The Office. She and I both love that show!

I'm loving browsing through that website. So many to choose from!

Digital Camera

We're probably going to be looking for a new digital camera in the next year, probably with our tax return. I would love to get a Canon like Eric's, but I do believe it's a bit out of our price range. I tried to win one from a photo contest, but now that I think of it, I haven't ever heard from them. Guess I didn't win, huh? LOL I guess, though, if I did get it, I'd have to have Eric show me how to use it, so I'd have to visit Cyndi again!! Hmmm, I may have to save my pennies!

African Hunting Safari

Oh my goodness, this looks like a blast! How would you like to go on a all inclusive traditional Africa hunting safari? Go check out the pictures in the gallery, they're phenomenal!

I love the Kilamanjaro Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom, but going on a real safari would make the Kilamanjaro Safari look like a, well, ride at Disney! It would be so neat to go on a safari led by a guide who knows what they're looking at and where they are and you can't beat the all-inclusive part! You get to stay in first class housing and eat multi-course meals after being out hunting the animals. All license and trophy fees are included. I'm loving that you don't need to remember all the little details....they're already taken care of for you!

My Garden

Holy cow! I soaked (or so I thought) my garden last night. Fast forward to 3:00 today when I got home. I looked outside and my corn stalks looked all shriveled up, the pumpkin and zucchini leaves are all limp. Good grief, it looked like I hadn't watered my poor garden in a week! So I went out and soaked it again. Later tonight I'll go check it and see how "deep" the water got down.

Photo Holiday Cards

Every year for our Christmas cards, I always take a family picture or a picture of the Princesses. I've been browsing holiday greeting cards and like what I see. I'm liking that you can put more than one photo on a greeting card. I usually have more than one picture I really like and would like to share with my family and friends. This solves the problem. I can put my favorites all on the same card. Great idea!

Oh neat! They even have gift card stickers. One thing I can see myself using them for is when I make the cookies for the neighbors. I can just stick your gift card sticker on the top of the cellophane and my neighbors get goodies and a card all in one. Great time saver for me. I can't wait for Christmas season to order them!

My Princesses are Spoiled

Holy Hannah! My girls are spoiled rotten! We've had a little income setback so we're watching every penny. One of my princesses keeps hounding me to go shopping and to get the new Hannah Montana CD. When I say "do you have the money?" I get the huffy pouty girl.

Ok, rant over. ;)

Laptop Batteries

I've been on the hunt for new IBM Laptop Batteries. Every time I use the laptop without being plugged in, it seems the battery lasts even less than the time before. It gets really annoying. I remember when we first got this laptop that the battery would last for over 3 hours. Now I'm lucky if I get half that.

Looking at www.lowcostbatteries.com, all the ones they have for my laptop are at a discount! Even the adapter to plug the laptop into the cigarette lighter in the Cherokee is at a discount. Awesome! I love being able to get a discount on the things I have to buy anyway.

How Lame

How lame am I? It's 7:54pm and here I thought it was probably 9:30 or so. I was going to go to bed and read and fall asleep. LOL I could still do that, but if I go to bed and fall asleep that early, I'll sleep horribly all night long and keep waking up. Anyone got any toothpicks? LOL

Where to Stay in Melbourne

Ever since high school, I've wanted to travel to Australia. Melbourne seems so beautiful and has so much to see. Some day I will get there!

If you're traveling abroad and looking for Melboune Accomodations from 2 star to 5 star or even last minute, don't worry! Cheaperthanhotels.com.au has an answer for you!

You can find furnished apartments or you can even get discounts for groups. Give them a try! I'm sure you'll find somewhere to stay while saving money!

Smart Girl!

We got Oldest Princess' report card in the mail yesterday. She pulled off straight A's.....again! We're so proud of her! But of course, being the sarcastic parents that we are, we told her we'd talk about her report card when we got in the house and acted like we were less than pleased. Of course, she was on to us. Guess we wouldn't make it in Hollywood, eh?

Garage Organizaation

One area of our house that really needs attention is the garage. My poor Cherokee has been evicted from the garage since the Christmas decoration boxes have been put out there waiting to move to the attic. These boxes are where the Cherokee is supposed to go because the rest of the garage is so unorganized.

I would love to have some garage organization ! I would love to get some cabinets like these. Craig would like them because they look great and are stainless steel. He'd finally have some organization for all his tools!

Weekly Weigh-In

Well, weigh-in this week was a dud. I didn't gain (Yahoo!!) but I didn't lose either (Boo!!). LOL I'll take it though. Anything other than a gain, I'll take.

I've been trying to do more yardwork. Wow, our backyard is just a jungle of weeds. I've now gotten the area around the garden done and am working on the side of the house. We need to get some gravel to put down along the side I think. I'm hoping that will help keep the weeds down a bit.

Burn Notice

During the summer, I get so tired of re-runs. I love it when I find a show that has it's season premiere in the summertime. USA Network's Burn Notice starts June 28. Yay! A new show that looks good for the summertime!

The main character, Michael, is a spy who gets a "burn notice". A burn notice is basically saying you're on the "black list" for any agency, but he doesn't know why he's been let go. I got to thinking, I wonder what he could have done!

I bet Michael was hot on the trail of a crook named 'Grumpy Gus'. Grumpy Gus was known to frequent the movie theater to see all the new releases. Michael had tracked Gus down and followed him to the theater to see the newest Spiderman movie. Looking through his binoculars, Michael noticed the sign on the door that read, "Help Desperately Wanted--Apply Within!"

Michael thought to himself, "hmmm, I could stand to earn a bit of extra dough on the side so I can afford that vacation in the Bahamas I've been dreaming of." Michael walked into the theater and asked to speak with the manager.

Next thing he knew, Michael was dawning the little red vest with the black bow tie and the plastic name tag. "Would you like butter with that?" would be the only words Michael would mutter for the next 6 hours. Michael didn't realize how hard it would be to deal with the general public, most of which are late for their movie and tired of standing in line. He seemed to take the brunt of their lack of patience.

During this time, he was still keeping an eye on Gus. Gus not only loved the flicks, but he loved the popcorn and the Milk Duds. Every time Michael was working, Gus came to get a large popcorn and a box of Milk Duds. Michael started to befriend Gus. Gus just thought Michael was your typical teen making a few extra bucks for gas for his car or to take his girlfriend out to dinner.

Gus and Michael had gotten so friendly that Michael had been invited to Gus' penthouse for a party. Michael showed up and saw that Gus wasn't only a cinema fan, but also a fan of the outdoors. The penthouse had plants everywhere! Even some potted plants that Michael didn't recognize. As the music was playing and the alcohol was flowing, Michael began to loosen up a little.

Knock, knock, knock. Michael went to open the door and it was the Police. The young policewoman, not recognizing Michael, asked his name. Michael couldn't help but hit on the young policewoman since her beauty was astounding! She then said, "Michael, you're under arrest!" It turned out that the potted plants that weren't recognized by Michael were the secret ingredient in the brownies that he'd eaten so many of. Michael then passed out.

Upon awakening, he was sitting in a cell in the police station. The officer finally came and told him that Gus had said he was the owner of the penthouse and it was his party. "Oh, snap!" Michael thought to himself, "why didn't I arrest Gus when I had the chance?" He tried to explain that it wasn't his place, but the Police Chief wasn't buying it. He had documentation proving otherwise. How Gus got that paperwork with Michael's name on it, he'll never know.

Well, I'm sure USA network will have a much better reason for Michael to have been fired. Go check out http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice to find out the real reason!

Monday, Monday

Ugh, it's definitely a Monday. I worked later than what was scheduled. I stood in line at the bank for over 20 minutes (I swear I've never seen a slower bank), I still have 2 hours of job #2 to do and we got a disconnect notice from the phone company. LOL They must have some new program now that sends out these nice little letters if you didn't pay last month's balance in full. *eyeroll* Oh well, once we pay it, we're going to cancel it anyway since we can use our cells.

Yup, it's Monday!

Cheap Cruises

Are you looking for a cheap cruise? I sure would love to go on a cruise, and if it's cheap, that's even better! In addition to going to Walt Disney World next year for our anniversary, I'd love to take a week and do a Disney cruise. Looking around for Cheap Cruises, and a cheap Disney cruise can sometimes be daunting, but SkyAuction.com seems to have it covered. They even give you a low price guarantee! Can't beat that!

My friend, Donna, has also gone on Carnival Cruises and said how much fun they are. That will also be another option for us to check into. If I recall correctly, Donna has another cruise already booked on Carnival. Hmmm, wonder if they'd mind if we were their neighbors?

Not Too Bad

Well, I don't think I did too bad today. My eating wasn't too horrible and I've been drinking water tonight. I did have 2 Diet Cokes today, so I need to up my water intake. I don't think that will happen though or I'll be up all night, if you know what I mean. hehehe

College Tuition

Ay, yi, yi. The costs of college tuition are going through the roof! In 5 years, we're going to be paying for that college tuition. Oldest Princess wants to go to Princeton or Harvard. Can we say ka-ching? We're going to be looking at having to get a Federal parent loan for most of her education.

I'm really loving that we now have the internet as a resource to look things up. Financialaid.com not only tells about loans in layman's terms, it even has a scholarship finder with over 8,000 programs totaling over $35 million! I remember looking over the bulletin board in high school searching for the few slips of paper with the names of scholarships I might actually qualify for. A website like financialaid.com is a wonderful site to help in that search.

From what I remember about my experience with financial aid, everything was on a schedule. This form was due this time, make sure you turned this one in by this date, and don't forget to get this one postmarked by this date. Ugh, deadlines!! I had to make lists to make sure I didn't miss that one important deadline. Now you can find financial aid timelines right here on the internet. What a stress reliever! Go check out www.financialaid.com and bookmark it like I already have. If you've got kids, you're going to need this website!

The Journey Begins

Well, I'm on this weight loss journey. I've been good and I've been bad. My weaknesses seem to be on the weekend, when I'm home more, I suppose. Anyway, I've been a member of Spark People for about a year now. I started out last year all gung ho and then petered out. I'm hoping this time will be the one that works.

Craig and I are planning a trip to Walt Disney World for September 2008 for our 15th anniversary. Yep, our anniversary is in July, but WDW offers free dining in late August/September, so we'll just wait and go then. I never could pass up free food.

Time Flies

Wow! I can't believe I haven't posted since last Wednesday and I totally spaced off this Wordless Wednesday! Time flies when you're having fun, eh? I've actually been able to pick up a few more shifts for job #2 recently, which is good for the checkbook. I miss the time off though.

I'm crazy....I'm allowing Oldest Princess to have a sleepover tomorrow night to celebrate the end of the school year. It was going to be 3 friends, but one can't make it so now it's just OP and 2 others.

I've also decided to make part of this blog to deal with my weight loss. Yes, I'm trying again to lose weight. I keep just putting on a bit here and there. I now have almost 100 pounds to lose to be at my goal. That number just seems to be astronomical, so I'll need to take it one step at a time. Cause after all, "If It Were Only That Easy", I'd already be at my goal just by wishing it so, right?
